Health, Safety And Environment Policy

Ethics have been primordial to our business

Health and safety of our people along with conservation of the environment for their wellbeing, forms the foundation of our ethics.

COMMITMENT

We are committed to providing and maintaining a workplace that is free from risk to the health, safety and wellbeing of our workers, customers, visitors and the general community.

We are also committed to provide services to our clients and operate our assets, in an environmentally responsible manner so that the current as well as our future generations can cherish the benefits of a clean and healthy environment.

OBJECTIVES

We will always:

  • Comply with the applicable HSE legislation and other statutory requirement to provide the safest possible workplace and systems of work.
  • Seek to continuously exceed our health, safety and environment performance objectives and targets
  • Endeavouring to develop the culture of resource conservation and pollution prevention.
  • Assist injured workers to return to work as soon as possible through the provision of rehabilitation programs and return to work planning.
  • Respecting the surrounding community and controlling environmental health hazards arising from operations and events as a result of the projects site activities.
  • Considering environmental factors in our planning, development, new projects, investments, operations and services.

OUR WORKERS SHALL:

  • Act in a manner that does not create any unnecessary risk to the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves or others.
  • Maintain the safest possible workplace.
  • Comply with business health and safety systems.
  • Participate in induction, training and awareness sessions.
  • Report all health and safety hazards and incidents in accordance with system requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with our customers, stakeholders and the community to identify and contribute to practical solutions to environmental issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Our Leaders shall fulfil their obligation by:
  • Establishing, reviewing and strengthening our HSE Management Systems in an ongoing manner through periodic reviews with the involvement of all TEPL personnel at the required level.
  • Understanding the nature of the operations of the business and the hazards and risk associated with those operations.
  • Implementing safe operating procedure (SOPs) and control the relevant safety practices in construction activities.
  • Ensuring the business has appropriate processes for receiving and considering information regarding incidents, hazards and risks and responds in a timely way to that information.
  • Verifying the provision and use of resources and processes through effective consultation.
  • Conduct regular reviews of our environmental performance to ensure that we are meeting our objectives and targets.

TEPL is committed to consultation with its revered stakeholders to ensure that this commitment and the overall HSE system perform competently as well as to review and continuously improve these elements.
